Task: Comment on a teaching idea you found on the web
I found a teaching idea on the website learningapps.org.
What is learningapps.org?
Learningapps.org is an app (short form for application) containing small interactive modules which can be used in learning materials and also for self studying. There are two buttons. One is called "Browse app", the other "Create app".
"Browse" button
After clicking onto the "Browse" button different categories (subjects like history, English and biology) become visible. You can click on one of the categories and all apps belonging to this category are displayed.
Every app contains the following information: the app's name, the name of the person who created the app, the app's category, rating and view count.
"Create" button
A click on "Create" button opens a site containing several templates (by now seventeen) to create new apps. The apps can be saved and published (so that everybody is able to use them).
Languages
Moreover it is possible to select and change a language (choose from German, English, French, Italian or Russian).

My teaching idea
Name: "Famous sights in London"
Pupil's task: Match the Pairs
Description:
There are a total of twenty-four cards. Half of them have names of famous sights in London on it (like Madame Tussaud's, Big Ben or Tower of London), the remaining cards show the pictures which belong to the names. The pupil's task is it to find the pairs which belong together = match the pairs.
How does this work?
You can grab one of the name- or picture-cards and drag it to the correct name- or picture-card. The two cards are then fixed with adhesive strip. When you want to separate the cards click on the adhesive strip. There are two buttons. One is called "fullscreen", the other "check solution". When you press the "fullscreen" button, the mode changes to "fullscreen". When you think that you have finished then press the "check solution" button. All pairs which belong together change their borders to green. The ones which do not fit together get a red border. When all pairs are matched correctly, then a box with "well done, you've found all the pairs" appears.
